Happy New Year: You’re fabulous just the way you are
The new year brings a new start. With 2020 behind us, many are revved up and ready to roll with resolutions.
However the “New Year, New You” slogan can strike a chord in some. Sure, everyone wants to continue to better themselves. However, the phrase can imply there is something ‘wrong’ with a person, as if they aren’t good enough just the way they are–almost rendering the things they’ve accomplished in the past as meaningless.
News 8’s medical reporter, Dr. Mary Gillis, was on Indy Style today. Gillis discussed why it’s important to give yourself a pat on the back for making it through 2020 and how–with a simple shift in thinking–people can look at every day as if it were New Year’s Day.
