IFD: No one hurt in near north side fire

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – Police and fire crews were called to the near north side of Indianapolis early Thursday morning after a house fire broke out.

It happened at a vacant residence in the 900 block of West 30th Street, near West Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Street, a little before 6 a.m. This is just south of Crown Hill Cemetery.

Photos from the Indianapolis Fire Department show the house fully engulfed in flames when they arrived. It took IFD about 30 minutes to get the fire under control.

Firefighters say no injuries were reported. The home suffered $70,000 in damages. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
