IMPD thanks community for support after officer shot on duty
INDIANAPOLIS (WISH ) — The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department is thanking the community for the outpouring of support, after an officer was shot during a chase Monday evening.
IMPD posted a message on Facebook late Monday night.
Hundreds of people have commented on IMPD’s Facebook page and on the WISH-TV Facebook page, thanking officers for the work they do every day.
Facebook user Cheryl Peterman commented saying, “Thank you for all the officers who come to work and answer our calls for help your heroes.”
Another user said “So very sorry our IMPD officers had to deal with this. My thoughts and prayers are with the officers involved. A sincere THANK YOU for keeping us safe here in Indy. We see you.”
