THORNTOWN, Ind. (WISH) — A Lebanon woman died Thursday night after she was thrown from her vehicle as it rolled over on State Road 47 in Thorntown, police said.

The Boone County Sheriff’s Office and Thorntown Police Department were called just after 9 p.m. to a single-vehicle crash in the 5600 block of State Road 47, just west of U.S. 52.

Officers found a Jeep Liberty upside-down in a ditch on the north side of the road and an unresponsive woman nearby.

The woman, identified by police as 45-year-old Amber Williams, died at the scene. She was the only person in the vehicle at the time of the crash.

The Boone County Fatal Alcohol Crash Team was asked to investigate. Their review of the crash was ongoing.

It’s unclear if the woman was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident or if alcohol or drugs played a role in what happened.
