MUNCIE, Ind. (WISH) — The Muncie Police Department is seeking the public’s help locating a 74-year-old woman last seen Tuesday.

Shonda Howard was described in an Indiana Silver Alert issued Monday as white, 5 feet 6 inches tall, and 108 pounds, with white hair and hazel eyes. She was last seen wearing a gray shirt and black pants.

Police said Monday that Howard was last seen around 1:15 a.m. Thursday in Muncie. She was believed to be in extreme danger and may require medical aid.

On Wednesday, police said they’d found surveillance footage of Howard at a business in the area of West Jackson Street and South Tillotson Avenue at 1:17 a.m. Dec. 26. “Howard came to that location on foot and was observed on the surveillance video beginning to walk back west in the direction of her apartment in the 3000 block of W. Jackson St.,” police said in a news release issued Wednesday.

“Muncie Police Detectives have canvassed the area, spoken to relatives, neighbors, businesses and known associates of Shonda Howard. We are continuing to follow up with all avenues and are waiting on receipt of further records that have been requested,” the Wednesday release said.

Anyone with information on Howard was asked to contact the Muncie Police Department at 765-716-9825 or 911.

Muncie is in eastern Indiana, about 63 miles northeast of downtown Indianapolis, according to the Silver Alert.
