Summer weddings could still happen, Indy venue advises couples how to prepare

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – Summer weddings can still happen under Governor Holcomb’s five-stage plan. The Biltwell Event Center is preparing for that possibility.

Director of Venue Sales, Mark Mattingly told News 8 most of the decisions will still be made by the couples.

Right now, the venue has no plans to make any specific wedding requirements as long as all state guidelines are being followed.

Mattingly said he is asking clients different questions than in the past. If they are not on board with having guests wear masks and gloves or changing the size of their guest list, Mattingly suggests rescheduling just in case the venue has to enforce those rules later.

So far, the Biltwell has had to reschedule about a dozen weddings for later in the year or in 2021.

When the venue does open there will be extra hand sanitizer and updated cleaning procedures for staff. All of the state’s new rules will also be in enforced.
