INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Students at Whiteland Community High School will be released early on Thursday after a water main break left the school without running water on the hottest day of the year.

Students will be dismissed at 9:20 a.m. and buses will be ready to pick them up and take them home for the day. Car riders and car drivers can also leave at that time, Clark-Pleasant Community Schools says.

The school will be on e-learning for the remainder of the day with students on the following schedule:

  • 4th Period on Google Meets: 12 – 12:40 p.m.
  • 6th Period on Google Meets: 12:45 – 1:25 p.m.

Students can email their teachers with any questions.

The school district says the water main was ruptured by construction workers. It’s not clear if repairs will be made in time for the school to reopen on Friday.
