Woman killed in I-465 crash

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — A crash on I-465 Sunday evening left one person dead, according to Indiana State Police.

Around 6 p.m., police responded to I-465 WB near Emerson Avenue on reports of a car crash.

Upon arrival, officers found a two heavily damaged vehicles.

The driver of one of the vehicles, an adult female, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Preliminary investigation suggests that the woman was westbound on the interstate in the left lane. As she switched lanes, she may have struck another vehicle and lost control. Her car spun sideways and struck the center concrete median head-on.

Her car bounced back into the left lane where it was hit by a pick-up truck.

The driver of the truck was uninjured.

ISP says the investigation is ongoing.
