Man has seizure after I-65 crash, dies at hospital
SHELBY COUNTY, Ind. (WISH) – An Edinburgh man died early Thursday morning after a pickup truck rolled over on I-65 in Shelby County.
Police say the crash happened on I-65 near the 81-mile marker around 1 a.m. When police arrived, the driver and passenger both appeared to be OK and denied medical assistance.
When both of them were put in an ambulance to be checked for injuries, the passenger – 29-year-old Devin Streeval – had a seizure. He was taken to IU Health Methodist Hospital, where he died around 3:15 a.m.
Officials with Indiana State Police say it’s unclear whether Streeval died as a result of the crash or from an underlying medical condition. An autopsy will be performed to determine his cause of death.
The driver of the pickup, 28-year-old Alyssa Caudill, provided a blood sample to be tested for drugs and alcohol, which is standard procedure for all crashes that result in a death.
