Man released after drug bust at Greenwood motel

GREENWOOD, Ind. (WISH) – A Greenwood man has bonded out of jail after a large cocaine bust Tuesday night.

Police served a search warrant on a room in local motel, Red Roof Inn, and arrested 40-year-old Dewayne L. Lewis

According to the Greenwood Police Department, around 5 p.m. their officers assisted Indiana State Police on a drug investigation at the Red Roof Inn, located on Sheek Road, in Greenwood.

While conducting the search warrant, police say detectives found a large amount of suspected cocaine which was over 10 grams, and packaged for distribution. The substance positively tested for cocaine.

Lewis was transported to the Johnson County Jail and preliminarily charged with dealing cocaine. He was held, and subsequently released, on a $30,000 bond.
