McConnell-allied Super PAC spends $1.4M to boost GOP’s Braun
INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — A Super PAC with ties to Republican Senate leader Mitch McConnell is spending $1.4 million on an ad campaign to boost Indiana GOP Senate candidate Mike Braun.
The Senate Leadership Fund on Tuesday announced the campaign, which will run across the state on broadcast TV, cable, radio and online.
Braun is a former state lawmaker and businessman running against vulnerable Democratic Sen. Joe Donnelly.
The ad features footage of President Donald Trump praising Braun on stage at an Indiana rally.
Trump calls Braun a “special man” and says: “We want people like Mike Braun.”
The ad is the latest example of Trump dominating Indiana’s Senate race.
Donnelly, too, has portrayed himself in ads as willing to cross the aisle and work with Trump.
