Police believe same man robbed gas station twice in 1 week

CUMBERLAND, Ind. (WISH) – The Cumberland Police Department is looking for a man who they believe robbed a local gas station twice in the past week.

The first robbery happened on June 4 at the Speedway gas station at 965 North German Church Road. Police say a man entered the building, demanded that the cashier give him all the money, and implied he had a gun. He was last seen running southbound from the gas station.

The second robbery happened on June 8 at the same gas station. The man once again took off on foot, and was last seen southbound from the business.

According to police, the suspect in both robberies is described as a black male in his early 20s, about 6 feet tall to 6 feet 2 inches tall, with a dark complexion and facial hair.

On June 4, police say he was seen wearing jeans, and a gray hoodie style sweatshirt with a lighter colored shirt underneath, tennis shoes that were black on top and white or a lighter color on the bottom half. In the June 8 robbery, he was wearing jeans, and a royal blue hoodie style sweatshirt with a darker colored shirt underneath, and the same shoes.
