Police: Man shows gun, takes apple pies from Evansville Arby’s
EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WEHT) – Evansville Police are investigating a robbery at a fast food restaurant involving marijuana, apple pies, and a gun.
An Evansville Police report states that officers responded to a reported holdup at the Arby’s on First Avenue around 11:30 p.m. Tuesday.
The person working the drive thru told officers a suspect pulled up to the intercom asking about apple pies. When they got around to the window, the worker noticed two guns in the passenger seat.
According to the report, the suspect then asked if they could give the restaurant a bag of marijuana in exchange for the apple pies.
The suspect then grabbed a third gun, according to the report, and held it up explaining that they weren’t afraid of the “cops or snitches”.
As the worker walked to the kitchen to let others know to hurry, the suspect began hitting on the window.
As the worker returned, police said the suspect pointed a black revolver at the worker.
After the worker gave the suspect food in a bag, he acted as if he was putting marijuana in the bag and gave it back to the worker. according to the police report. The bag was empty when the worker opened it.
EPD said before the suspect left, the worker told him they smoke too and wanted his number “for a hook up”. The suspect did give his number to the worker before pulling away.
According to the police report, the vehicle was described as a dark, four door passenger vehicle.
