Police resolve matter with ‘barricaded subject’ at east side home

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Police have peacefully resolved a domestic disturbance with a “barricaded subject” at a home on the city’s east side.

Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department was called to the home in the 10500 block of Tanoan Lane shortly before 6:30 p.m. Police were dispatched to the home on a disturbance call.

The home is northeast of 30th Street and Mitthoeffer Road, near Grassy Creek Regional Park.

A woman in the home with a gun got into an argument with a family member, police said. The family member left and called for help from a neighbor’s home. Police arrived but the woman would not come out, and police eventually went into the home and found the woman asleep.

Police said they expected to file charges against the woman.

Special weapons and tactics units were at the scene. There were no injuries.
