Police seek ‘dangerous’ 62-year-old in connection to wife’s murder

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Homicide detectives are seeking a 62-year-old man in connection to the murder of his wife after a body was found inside a house Thursday afternoon on the west side.

His wife has been identified as 52-year-old  Deedee Jones.

Floyd Jones is “considered armed/dangerous,” Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department said in a tweet about 9:25 p.m.

“DO NOT APPROACH,” the tweet said. “Call 911 if seen, @cicrimestoppers with tips on his whereabouts.”

Police were initially called shortly before 2 p.m. Thursday to check on the welfare of a person in the 1500 block of South Concord St. That’s northeast of South Tibbs Avenue and West Minnesota Street on the city’s west side.

Shortly before 3:15 p.m., an “assist SWAT” call was made to the same address.

Police said a special weapons and tactics team cleared the house and found no suspect inside. People who live in the area had been kept from returning to their homes while the SWAT team was active.

IMPD urged anyone with information to contact the homicide office at 317-327-3475 or contact Crime Stoppers of Central Indiana at 317-262-8477 or via other methods on its website.
