Purdue landmarks light up in honor of Orlando victims

 WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) – The Purdue community is honoring the Orlando shooting victims.

At the request of Purdue Student Government, the Engineering Fountain and Purdue Bell Tower will light up with rainbow colors.

The university is joining others around the country and world to send condolences to the victims and their families.

The fountain was lit as of Tuesday night.  The bell tower will light up Wednesday night.

In a press release, Purdue stated its “commitment to foster human dignity, mutual respect and fundamental freedoms and to search for better means of detecting and defeating threats to the security of Americans at home and abroad.”
