Rain, warmer temperatures Saturday ahead of windy Sunday

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Clouds will increase overnight ahead of a wet Saturday.

Friday night:
Skies will become mostly cloudy overnight but expect temperatures that are not as cold as Thursday night. Temperatures will hold steady in the upper 30s as isolated showers develop before sunrise.

Saturday:
Showers are likely on and off throughout the day. Isolated thunderstorms are possible by afternoon as the cold front moves over the state. Temperatures will warm to the upper 50s to low 60s as winds pick up. The severe weather threat has shifted further south; however, we can’t rule out isolated strong storms.

Saturday night:
Windy with showers and a few thunderstorms. Temperatures will fall to the low 40s overnight as showers diminish. A high wind watch has been issued for our area.

Sunday:
Windy with 40 mph wind gusts throughout the day. Clouds will slowly decrease making way for a little sunshine. Expect afternoon high temperatures in the mid-40s.

Monday:
Much colder conditions with highs in the mid 30s. Mostly sunny skies and dry weather is expected.

8 Day forecast:
Slightly warmer Tuesday ahead of a chance for rain and snow on Wednesday. Temperatures will warm to the upper 30s to low 40s on Wednesday. Colder air sinks in as we head into next weekend. Scattered light snow showers are possible Friday.
