Saturday marks 5 years since deadly Indiana State Fair stage collapse

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Saturday marks five years since the deadly Indiana State Fair stage collapse.

High winds blew over Mid America’s stage rigging on Aug. 13, 2011, as country music duo Sugarland was preparing to perform.

Seven people died and dozens more were hurt.

On Friday, a mother and daughter injured in the collapse reunited with the medical team who saved them.

Jill and Jaymie Polet hugged the trauma staff at IU Methodist Hospital.
