Sheriff: Intoxicated driver arrested in fatal Hendricks County crash
HENDRICKS COUNTY, Ind. (WISH) — Deputies have arrested a Danville man following a crash that killed a man last September.
19-year-old Cody Albert faces charges of murder and operating while intoxicated resulting in death. The Hendricks County Sheriff’s Office says Albert is to blame for the Sept. 24, 2018 crash that killed 51-year-old Thomas Plasers of Coatesville.
The crash happened in the 400 block of West US Highway 40. Witnessess said Albert’s vehicle was traveling west in the eastbound lanes at a high rate of speed prior to striking another vehicle head on in the eastbound lanes.
Plasters was pronounced dead on the scene.
HCSO said Albert was arrested on Jan. 18. Online court records show he had an initial appearance on Jan. 22. He is due back in court on March 25 for a pretrial conference.
