Spencer church holds vigil for baby Shaylyn
SPENCER, Ind. (WISH) – Family of God church will hold a vigil for baby Shaylyn on Friday evening.
The vigil will take place at Cooper Park in Spencer at 7 p.m.
According to the Facebook page, there will be prayer and they are asking people to bring their own candles.
“We feel it is important to come together in this time of sorrow and pray for comfort and peach and to be support for one another,” the post said.
Police had been searching for Shaylyn since Wednesday morning.
She had been in the care of her grandmother and father Tuesday in their Spencer home.
Tamera Sue Morgan, Shaylyn’s grandmother, told police she put her to bed and last checked on her around midnight Tuesday in a home in the 400 block of West Jefferson.
Indiana State Police found a body matching the description of the missing one-year-old Thursday.
Relatives have set up a GoFundMe page to help pay for the funeral.
