Torch Relay stop brings awareness to community blood drive

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – Hundreds celebrated 200 years of Indiana’s statehood.

Throughout the year the Bicentennial Torch has been traveling the state, hitting many different and important Indiana landmarks in the process.

Before the Bicentennial Torch completed its journey on Saturday, it made a number of stops in and around the city.

One of those stops was used to help bring awareness to a community blood driver. The Indiana Blood Center held a drive until 2 p.m. Saturday afternoon.

24-Hour News 8 spoke to one of the Torch bearers at that site, the president of the Indianapolis Recorder.
