Tracking strong winds and the threat for severe storms
INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Showers and isolated thunderstorms will develop overnight.
Thursday night:
It will be a breezy and mild Thursday night with a few isolated showers to the west. A line of strong to severe storms will develop after midnight bringing heavy rain and gusty winds. Storms will become weaker as they slide from west to east across the state. Showers and storms will continue overnight as temperatures remain in the 60s.
Friday:
Showers and storms will linger into Friday morning, leading to a wet morning commute. We will slowly dry out by afternoon as clouds decrease. Breezy and cooler conditions are expected with temperatures in the mid-60s.
Weekend:
Sunshine will return to the forecast Saturday, not as warm but comfortable by afternoon. Temperatures will only warm to the low 60s before cooling to the 40s Saturday night. Showers are likely on and off throughout the day with isolated thunderstorms at times Sunday. Prepare for a damp and mild afternoon with high temperatures in the low 60s. The coolest air of the week will arrive Sunday night into Monday as temperatures fall to the 30s.

A gradual warming trend is expected for much of next week. Monday will become the coolest day of the week as we start our morning with temperatures in the 30s. It will be pleasant but cool by afternoon and expect high temperatures in the 50s. Much warmer as we head into mid-week as temperatures warm to near 70 degrees. Showers will develop to end the work week next week.
