Tractor-trailer rolls into home; Tow truck driver arrested

GREENBRIER, Tenn. (WKRN) – A tow truck driver who was called to remove a tractor-trailer that crashed into a home ended up being handcuffed and taken into custody Monday morning.

The driver arrived to Elm Hill Court in Greenbrier to tow an unattended tractor-trailer that had rolled into the back corner of a home causing severe damage to the resident.

Authorities said a woman inside the home had just left the bathroom, where the truck crashed, only seconds before the accident.

She was not injured.

As crews were questioning the driver of the tractor-trailer, the tow truck driver reportedly asserted himself into the conversation and began using profanities.

Authorities asked the tow truck driver to move away before they tried to place him into a patrol car so they could address him.

At that point, the tow truck driver jerked away from authorities and made an aggressive motion. He was taken to the ground and ultimately handcuffed.

The trooper’s uniform was torn during the incident.

The man, whose identity has not been released, is charged with disorderly conduct and resisting arrest.

He was booked into the Robertson County jail.

The home where the crash happened suffered severe damage and was deemed uninhabitable.

Two vehicles were also damaged.
