Wednesday rain increases flood possibility

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – Several more rounds of rain are expected over the next few days, including a chance for severe storms and flooding Wednesday.

Heavy rain from showers on Wednesday evening through Friday could add an additional 1 to 3 inches of rainfall to already-soaked areas. Flooding could be possible through Friday, especially in northern sections of central Indiana.

Storms could develop Wednesday afternoon, and could become strong to severe.

Any storms that develop in the afternoon could produce gusty winds, frequent lightning and heavy rain. Severe storms may be possible for all of central Indiana, Thursday.

More rain is expected through the weekend, including the remnants of Tropical Storm Bill, which could enhance flooding concerns.
