Week 2: Is The Zone headed to your school on Friday?

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Last Friday night, Sports Director Anthony Calhoun and the WISH-TV Sports team traveled to 22 schools across Central Indiana, covering more high school football games than any other TV station in the state!

This Friday, AC and the team will be headed to 22 more schools to air highlights and interviews on “The Zone,” at 11:08 p.m. on WISH-TV during News 8 at 11 p.m.

Game 1: Cathedral @ Brownsburg (7:30)

Brownsburg comes off a 51-7 thumping of Fort Wayne Bishop Dwenger a week ago and heads home for a huge matchup with Cathedral. The Irish were winners over Lafayette Jeff at Lucas Oil Stadium last week 55-14.

AC will host a pregame tailgate party at 5 p.m., hanging out with fans and handing out T-shirts, posters, desserts, and more, LIVE on WISH-TV.

Game 2: Fishers @ Pike: MyINDY-TV Game of the Week

Fishers took down North Central at home 44-0 a week ago while Pike dropped a heartbreaker, 24-21 at Zionsville.

Game 3: Westfield @ Lawrence Central 

Westfield enters this week with a win under its belt after beating New Palestine 34-14 at home. Meanwhile LC enjoyed a 54-0 rout of Arsenal Tech last week at UIndy.

Game 4: Christian Brothers (MO) @ Carmel 

Carmel invites Missouri’s reigning Class 6 state champions to town in Christian Brothers (St. Louis) after the Greyhounds travelled to Fort Wayne, defeating Homestead by a narrow 14-7 margin. This will be Christian Brothers’ first game of the season and one of two trips to Indiana this year (Warren Central on Oct. 13) after winning the championship in the state’s highest class.

Game 5: Hamilton Southeastern @ North Central 

North Central looks for its first win of the season after falling 44-0 to Fishers last week. Meanwhile HSE took down Carroll 28-14 on Friday.

Game 6: Avon @ Ben Davis 

Ben Davis spent last Friday in Cincinnati, Ohio as it beat Archbishop Moeller 49-28. The Giants host an Avon team that fell by a touchdown to Lawrence North last week, 24-17.

Game 7: Oakland (TN) @ Center Grove

Center Grove lost to reigning Ohio champion St. Edward last week 27-10 but returns home this week to host Tennessee’s top state champion from a year ago, Oakland.

Game 8: Homestead @ Noblesville 

Noblesville comes off a 48-30 victory over Mt. Vernon while Homestead tries to forget a tough 14-7 loss to Carmel.

Game 9: Kokomo @ Whiteland 

Whiteland blew out Jeffersonville 52-20 a week ago, hosting a Kokomo team that narrowly defeated Leo 16-14.

Game 10: Harrison @ Plainfield 

Keep an eye out for AC at this one as Plainfield hosts a Harrison team that comes off a 42-6 win over West Lafayette. The Quakers took down Terre Haute South Vigo 32-13 on the road last week.

Game 11: New Palestine @ Decatur Central 

Another potential destination for WISH-TV’s Sports Director. Decatur Central travelled to Columbus North last week, winning 18-14. Meanwhile New Pal lost to Westfield 34-14.

Game 12: Ft. Wayne North Side @ Lawrence North 

Lawrence North plays host after a 24-17 win in Avon last week. Meanwhile North Side eyes its first win after a 26-13 loss to Northridge.

Game 13: Scecina @ Speedway

Scecina enters this one coming off a 48-20 victory over Ft. Wayne Concordia. Meanwhile Speedway beat Covenant Christian 33-21 a week ago.

Game 14: Tri-West @ Brebeuf 

Tri-West looks to keep momentum going from a 42-6 stomping of Western, while Brebeuf looks to forget its 49-23 loss to to Bishop Chatard last week.

Game 15: Roncalli @ Franklin Central 

Franklin Central took down Perry Meridian 29-12 last week, hosting a Roncalli team that beat Southport 43-20 last Friday night.

Game 16: Perry Meridian @ Southport 

As detailed in Game 15, Southport and Perry Meridian both come off big losses from a week ago. The southside rivals face off at Southport high school.

Game 17: Lutheran @ Cardinal Ritter (at Marian)

Lutheran blew past Beech Grove 50-0 last week, playing a Cardinal Ritter team that fell to Monrovia 50-15. This game will be played at Marian University, considered a Ritter home game.

Game 18: Warren Central @ Carroll

Carroll comes off a tough 28-14 loss to HSE but gets to stay at home this week as Warren Central makes the trek to Fort Wayne. The Warriors lost to Snider 42-20 in Week 1.

Game 19: Greenwood Christian vs Covenant Christian (at Zionsville Middle School) 

Both of these teams are on the hunt for their first win as Covenant Christian lost to Speedway 33-21 last week while Greenwood Christian, in just its second year as a football program, fell to Park Tudor 65-6.

Game 20: Mooresville @ Danville 

Danville brings a 21-14 road win over Greencastle to this matchup while Mooresville fell in a tough one, 34-29 at Bloomington North last week.

Game 21: Franklin @ Mt. Vernon 

Mount Vernon looks for its first win after a 48-30 loss to Noblesville while Franklin, reining The Zone Banner champions, blew out New Albany 42-3.

Game 22: Phalen Academy @ Monrovia 

Last but not least, its Monrovia hosting Phalen Academy after the Bulldogs beat Cardinal Ritter 50-15 last week. Meanwhile, Phalen comes off an 8-0 win over Crimson Knights a week ago.
