INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – A quiet and chilly start to Wednesday morning. The next system moves in Wednesday afternoon. We have a Winter Weather Advisory that’ll go into effect at 1 pm this afternoon. Rain will push in this afternoon. The rain will transition to a wintry mix by late afternoon.

For the evening commute, expect to see a mix then snow. Temperatures will cool through the afternoon with highs hitting the upper 30s then falling as the system passes through the state. On Wednesday night expect to see snow with lows in the lower 30s and upper 20s.

Thursday morning will be a messy start with snow continuing through about noon. By the end of the morning, most spots north of I-70 will see 2″-4″. Just north of the city snow accumulation looks between 4″-6″. Areas south of I-70 will see rain. Highs during the day Thursday will top out on the lower 30s.

Friday morning will be the coldest we’ve seen this year! Lows will fall to the single digits with feel like temperatures 5-15 degrees below zero! Highs will struggle through the afternoon with most spots in the lower 20s.

This weekend looks quiet now with a few light scattered snow showers but most of the day will be dry! Highs will warm to the mid-30s. Temperatures will continue to warm to the mid-40s Sunday. Highs by Monday will top out in the lower 50s with scattered rain moving in through the afternoon. That will stick around through Tuesday with highs cooling to the lower 40s.
