Indy Zoo welcomes endangered tiger pair
INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – A pair of endangered Amur tigers are among the Indianapolis Zoo’s newest additions.
Luka and Maxim, both 2 years old, were born at the Peoria Zoo and arrived in Indianapolis in mid-January.
The brothers join the zoo’s other Amur tigers, 6-year-old Andrea and her cub, Zoya. Visitors can see them regularly in the Tiger Forest. Zookeepers say they are very active and love to play in the water.
Luka and Maxim came to Indy as part of the Association of Zoos and Aquariums’ Species Survival Plan program.
