Fines total more than $70K for Tippecanoe Co. dog breeder

TIPPECANOE COUNTY, Ind. (WLFI) – After seven dogs were taken from a former border collie breeder’s property, a judge ordered him to pay another $21,000.

Last summer, a judge ordered Randy Sanders to not have more than three adult dogs on his property at one time. In February, eight dogs were found and seven were removed because animal control saw them living in deplorable conditions.

In a court hearing Monday morning with the Board of Zoning Appeals, attorney Jay Seeger said a judge found Sanders in contempt of court by having more than three adult dogs at once and fined him more than $21,000.

This is added onto the $50,000 Sanders was ordered to pay last summer.
