CLARKSVILLE, Ind. (AP) – A southern Indiana court says it has notified the FBI, local police and the Indiana Supreme Court about a data breach that has exposed personal information of people involved in cases dating from 2005 and earlier.

Clarksville Town Court Judge Jimmie Guilfoyle told the News and Tribune that the court’s server was hacked and encrypted Tuesday.

The files that were breached included names, birthdates, addresses and Social Security numbers.

Guilfoyle says the number of people affected is still being determined. Anyone who has been a party to a case in the court is urged to monitor their credit scores and personal accounts for suspicious activity.

Those with questions can contact the court at (812) 283-1505.
