New effort to promote Indy’s mass transit proposal involves college students

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – Several college students are getting in on the act when it comes to promoting the mass transit in Indianapolis.

Indy Connect has hired college students to talk to people  about the plan.

Officials said the students will wear bright blue t-shirts with “Ask me about Transit” across them.

The students from IUPUI, IU, Ball State and George Washington University made their debut at the City Market.

They are also expected to appear at the Broad Ripple Art Fair.

The proposal includes a 37 mile bus line that would eventually run from Westfield to Greenwood.
