Authorities investigate Monroe Co. homicide

MONROE COUNTY, Ind. (WISH) – Authorities in Monroe County are investigating a homicide.

According to the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office, they received a call about an unresponsive man Monday, September 12.

After arriving on scene in the 4500 block of Old State Road 37 in Bloomington, deputies discovered 66-year-old Donald Gentry at his residence unresponsive.  Emergency crews pronounced Gentry dead at the scene Monday evening.

Thinking Gentry’s death may have been a homicide, detectives were called to the scene.  An investigation was then conducted, several individuals were questioned.

On Tuesday, an autopsy was performed and the cause of death was determined to be homicide.

The case currently remains under investigation.
