Kokomo police seek man after allegedly beating, sexually assaulting woman

KOKOMO, Ind. (WISH) — One man is wanted after police said he battered and raped a woman in an incident that lasted 12 hours.

The investigation began when officers were called to the 500  block of West Park Avenue after a woman reported that she had been beaten and raped by Gary Perkins.

She told officials that she had been struck in the head and knocked unconscious. After gaining consciousness, she reported that Perkins began to strangle her until she lost consciousness again.

The woman said the incident began around 6 p.m. Monday, and after being sexually assaulted and confined to a bed, was able to free herself once Perkins left the residence.

Perkins is believed to be driving a blue 2003 Chrysler Town and Country Minivan with Indiana plates 644TJZ.

Perkins should be considered armed and dangerous.
