Snow for some, rain for most

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – Parts of central Indiana already have their first snow accumulation on the ground, and more could be on the way. For others, it will be a morning mix followed by a chilly rain for this afternoon.

A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect for far northern counties of central Indiana until early Monday morning.

In the advisory area, expect steady snow showers through this morning, with another round coming this afternoon and evening. A total of three to six inches of snow accumulation is possible in the advisory area.

For the rest of central Indiana, expect a dose of snow this morning that could leave a coating to as high as an inch of accumulation, before making a switch to freezing rain or sleet by early this afternoon.

A second wave will move in later this afternoon, but should come in warm enough that the precipitation around the Indy metro area should stay as rain through late tonight. Precipitation should wrap up just after Midnight.
