IMPD officer involved in 2-vehicle crash on south side
INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – An officer with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department was involved in a crash on the city’s south side.
The two-car crash happened just after 7:30 a.m. in the area of South Keystone Avenue and National Avenue.
Officer in crash taken to hospital
IMPD said the male officer was transported to the hospital in serious but stable condition. The driver of the other vehicle is in critical condition and was also taken to the hospital.
Police said the driver in the other vehicle is thought have had a medical condition that caused them to run the red light and strike the officer’s vehicle.
IMPD believes the other driver had a medical episode, ran a red light and struck the officer’s vehicle.
