INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — A man and woman killed Monday night in a stabbing on the city’s west side were identified Tuesday.

The Marion County Coroner’s Office identified the victims as Dylan Dickover, 28, and Victoria Cook, 24. A third person, who has not been identified, was critically injured in the stabbing.

Police and emergency crews were sent to the stabbings shortly before 9:45 p.m. Monday in the 5600 block of Portsmouth Avenue. The stabbings happened in an apartment at Carriage House West Apartments, what police described as a large residential neighborhood, located west of North Lynhurst Drive between West 10th and 16th streets.

Cook was found dead at the apartment. Dickover died at Eskenazi Hospital. The injured woman was in critical condition at Eskenazi.

The circumstances that led to the stabbing are not certain, police said. It was not immediately known if a break-in or robbery had occurred.

At least two witnesses were taken to the IMPD homicide office.

Genae Cook, a spokeswoman for IMPD, said homicides as a result of stabbings are not the norm in the city.
