Indiana Wesleyan University, community foundation establish grant for career exploration

MARION, Ind. (Inside INdiana Business) – Indiana Wesleyan University and the Community Foundation of Grant County have joined forces to establish the CAPE II Career Exploration Grant.

The Marion-Grant County Chamber of Commerce says the grant will support organizations that offer career exploration experiences, guidance and counseling, and encourage workplace internships and job shadowing.

IWU and the foundation say they will work together to determine distribution of funds.

The partners say the chair of the grant committee will be Carol Brown, the associate dean of life calling and career at IWU, as well as two additional members appointed by the university and two additional members appointed by the foundation.

Funding will be administered by the committee with priority given to organizations that serve the county’s students, provide career assessments and career resources, and provide evidence of partnerships with other service providers to increase reach, among others.

Proposals will be solicited in mid-September through the end of October. The committee is planning to review proposals during the first two weeks of November and will award recipients by the end of November.
