Woman in Waynesville found dead with ‘suspicious injuries,’ sheriff’s office says
WAYNESVILLE, Ind. (WISH) — A woman found dead Monday morning in Waynesville had suffered “suspicious injuries,” according to the Bartholomew County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies with the sheriff’s office were called to the 2700 block of South East Street around 6:28 a.m. Monday on “a possible code,” the sheriff’s office said in a Monday afternoon release.
The deputies arrived to find the deceased woman and notified the Bartholomew County Death Investigation Team, the sheriff’s office said.
No additional information about the identity of the woman, the nature of the scene or the circumstances of the death were immediately available.
The death investigation team is comprised of the Indiana State Police, the sheriff’s office, Columbus police, the Bartholomew County Coroner’s Office and the Bartholomew County Prosecutor’s Office.
