Two arrested in Muncie traffic stop after heroin found

MUNCIE, Ind. (WISH) – Two people were arrested after an undercover officer called for a traffic stop.

Thursday evening, The Delaware County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call for a traffic stop by an undercover officer.

The officer believed the suspect driving the vehicle was wanted on a warrant.

Delaware County Sheriff Ray Dudley made the stop near State Road 67 and Delaware County Road 400 South.

The passenger had a loaded handgun in the front seat.

After the weapon was removed, a K-9 indicated there were narcotics in the vehicle’s trunk area.

Police found numerous needles in the trunk and about 33 grams of fentanyl laced heroin on the vehicle’s passenger, Kevin Wallace. It was valued at over $5,000.

Wallace and the vehicle’s driver, Charity Albertson were arrested.

“I’m not afraid to get my fingers dirty,” said Sheriff Dudley. “I’m right out here with my guys doing what needs to be done to get these drugs out of our community.”
