Deputies search for vehicle after man shot at stoplight in Hamilton County

NOBLESVILLE, Ind. (WISH) — Police are looking for a vehicle after a man was shot while sitting at a stoplight in Hamilton County.

The Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office is seeking tips in the case. Deputies say the suspect vehicle is a four-door sedan in metallic red, possibly a Hyundai Elantra. Investigators described the driver as a male in his early 20s.

First responders were called around 11:15 p.m. Thursday to the intersection of 146th Street and River Road. That’s on the Carmel-Noblesville border.

A man was found shot. He was taken to an Indianapolis hospital and was in good condition.

Deputies believe several shots were fired from the sedan at the victim’s vehicle.

Information on what led up to the shooting, if anything, has not been released.

The sheriff’s office says there is “not a continued immediate threat to the public.”
