Police: Man set grandmother’s house on fire with 7 dogs inside
COLUMBUS, Ind. (WISH) — A Columbus man is behind bars after he allegedly set fire to his grandmother’s home with her seven dogs inside.
WISH-TV’s partners at The Republic are reporting that 23-year-old Michael Sample was arrested in the case.
Columbus firefighters rescued the dogs from the 4900 block of North Indianapolis Road in Columbus on Monday night.
According to Capt. Michael Wilson, firefighters opened a door to allow them to escape and carried three of them out.
Sample faces preliminary charges of arson, battery, resisting law enforcement and interfering with the report of a crime and on a warrant for failure to comply.
