Shooting leaves 1 dead, 2 hurt in Jeffersonville
JEFFERSONVILLE, Ind. (WISH) — One person died and two people were hurt in a shooting Sunday night in a residential area in Jeffersonville, police say.
The shooting happened about 8:30 p.m. Sunday in the 700 block of Mechanic Street. That’s a few blocks east of the I-65 interchange for 10th Street.
The three people knew each other, the Jeffersonville Police Department said in a news release, which gave no one’s name.
One of the injured people was later arrested on charges of battery and disorderly conduct, police say.
Jeffersonville is a city of 50,000 that’s across the Ohio River from Louisville, Kentucky.
