As the FFA prepares for its 97th Annual Convention and Expo, the spotlight again turns to Indianapolis. 

Scott Stump, the CEO of the National FFA Organization and National FFA Foundation, says over 70,000 FFA members are excited to return to Indy for their annual conference. He says the event is a milestone for the organization and the city.  

With more than one million members in the United States, the National FFA is headquartered in Indianapolis. “We believe we are growing the next generation of leaders who are going to change the world,” says Stump. 

With members ranging from fifth grade through high school, Stump says the student-members gain crucial personal and leadership skills through the FFA. He says members also gain technical skills that ensure they are “ready to succeed in any work environment.”

During this week’s event in Indianapolis, members will have new experiences in and around the city that allow them to engage with rural and urban agriculture. Stump says many members will be on hand for the ribbon-cutting ceremony for the IMPD’s new mounted patrol facilities.  

With a focus on doing, learning, and serving, FFA members participate in a wide range of activities and programs to grow their skills and prepare them for the workforce. Each summer, many members gather in Washington, DC, to meet with lawmakers.
