1 dies in crash of truck, moped near Lafayette
LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI/WISH) — A man died in a crash Thursday in southeastern Tippecanoe County.
Sheriff’s Office Capt. Robert Hainje said James Bray, 46, of Lafayette, was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Hainje said a GMC pickup truck driven by Ryan Newhart was “left of center” about 6:38 a.m. when coming around a bend in on Wyandotte Road. Bray’s moped swerved to miss the truck, throwing him frm the vehicle.
Bray was not wearing a helmet.
Newhart was not hurt.
