4 displaced in northeast side apartment fire

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – Four people are without a home following an apartment fire on the city’s northeast side Thursday morning, according to the Indianapolis Fire Department.

Crews responded to the 4800 block of East 19th Street just after 3:30 a.m. for a report of an apartment fire.

IFD says the fire broke out in a second-floor apartment. All four residents – three adults and one teenager- were able to get out unharmed.

It’s unclear at this point what caused the fire.

Damage has been estimated at $75,000.

Victims assistance is working with the residents to find housing.
