A look at the winner’s wreath

SPEEDWAY, Ind. (WISH) — The milk and a face on the Borg-Warner Trophy aren’t the only things that go to the winner of the Indianapolis 500.

Julie Vance is the woman behind the famous wreath. She’s been crafting the wreath each year for more than half of her life now.

The Hoosier tradition requires contributions from around the country, including orchids from Oregon.

24-Hour News 8’s Scott Sander caught up with Vance and found out what it takes to make the wreath.
