Wednesday’s business headlines
INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Here’s a look at Wednesday’s business headlines.
Wells Fargo
Wells Fargo postponed its return to-office plans indefinitely amid a worldwide surge in COVID-19 cases linked to the omicron variant.
The bank says employees will be briefed further on the bank’s plans in 2022.
It intended to start bringing back employees who have been working from home beginning Jan. 10. That date was set after the company put off its planned Nov. 1 return.
CES
Organizers of the annual CES tech conference in Las Vegas are putting on a brave face as omicron spreads, insisting the show will go on – but some big names are already pulling out.
Graphics chip giant NVIDIA, JPMorgan and Pepisco all confirmed that they’re bowing out of in-person CES events.
Organizers of the annual Las Vegas electronics showcase say the event is going to happen in person from Jan. 5-8.
Internet
The U.S. fails to rank among the top countries for internet usage.
The World Bank says the Middle East dominates the list with 100% of the United Arab Emirates population online.
Qatar was second.
TikTok

It’s the power of Gen Z.
Tech security company CloudFlare says there were some days when Google was No. 1, but October and November were mostly TikTok days, including on Thanksgiving and Black Friday.
