1 critically injured in downtown shooting

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — One person is in critical condition after a shooting in downtown Indianapolis Thursday night.

Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department officers were called to the area of East Michigan and North Delaware streets around 10:15 p.m.

When officers arrived to the scene they found a female had been shot. She was taken to a nearby hospital in critical condition.

News 8 sports reporter Charlie Clifford was walking his dog in the vicinity when he heard four or five shots.

It is unclear at this time what led to the shooting or if a suspect is in custody.
