Indiana trooper hospitalized after driver slams into patrol car on I-70

PRAIRIE CITY, Ind. (WISH) — An Indiana State Police trooper suffered injuries Saturday morning when a driver rear ended his patrol car on I-70.

According to ISP, the crash happened in the eastbound lanes of I-70 near mile marker 22 around 9:15 a.m. Trooper Troy Cobb was inside his parked patrol car with its lights activated when he was rear ended by a vehicle driven by Holly Hedden, 21, of Terre Haute.

Cobb was in the area due to an earlier crash investigation.

Police say Cobb was taken to Terre Haute Regional Hospital to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

Hedden was not injured. Police say drugs and alcohol are not a contributing factor in the crash.
