TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (Inside INdiana Business) – The Missouri Valley Conference has postponed all fall sports because of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. The decision impacts teams from Indiana State University, Valparaiso University, and the University of Evansville.

The MVC says its possible that fall sports will have a season in the spring.

“Once again, the pandemic is taking away something our student-athletes have worked so hard to prepare for, and it’s heartbreaking,” ISU President Deborah Curtis said. “But it is the right decision because our foremost concern is the health and safety of students.”

The decision was made by the league’s presidents and athletic directors as a result of the pandemic as well as the NCAA’s cancellation of all Division I fall championships.

Last week, ISU postponed its football season after the MVFC postponed the conference season.

The MVC says its decision does not impact winter and spring sports, which are still scheduled at this time.
