Indiana Family and Social Services Administration launches ‘Operation Food’

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – The Indiana Family and Social Services Administration is working to make sure families have food on the table during the coronavirus pandemic.

The department is launching “Operation Food.” It shows in real time where you can go to find food. The red school houses on the map indicates the summer meals available at schools for students to pick up. The blue shopping carts are for places around the state that have packed meals ready to take home.

The FSSA secretary Dr. Jennifer Sullivan says the partnership with the Indiana National Guard allows food banks to keep distributing food to pantries.

Sullivan says the meals will help meet the demand in response to the pandemic.
